Ferraris & Maseratis Get a New Home at Exoticars USA

ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP, N.J. (November 14, 2011) – Sports car owners from as far away as Kansas City, Mo. have been bringing their Ferraris, Maseratis and Lamborghinis to Hunterdon County’s Exoticars USA for service and restoration for over 30 years. The classic automobiles now have a new 6,000-square-foot service facility courtesy of Hance Construction.

“Exoticars USA only serves the Kings of the Road, so it is only fitting that they are cared for in a cutting-edge facility,” said Hance Construction President Art Hance. “We provided the company with a building from Butler’s Liberty product category, which was ideal for Exoticars needs and budget. We also facilitated the company’s design and approvals process and helped them select an attorney, architect and engineer.”

The facility, located at 636 Frenchtown Road in Milford, also includes an old bank building that was abandoned in the 1990s. Exoticars, which still operates its original Frenchtown shop some two miles away, purchased the bank site about a year ago. Hance Construction carefully blended the new and existing structures, including reroofing the old bank facility.

“We had just outgrown our other shop so it was time to invest in our facilities,” said Exoticars owner Wil de Groot, who began his career as a Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) national racing driver. “It was very helpful to work with Art Hance because he understood the local building codes and guided us through the approval process. We are very happy with the facility both functionally and in terms of look and feel because the structure fits in nicely with the surroundings.”

The fourth generation in his family in the automobile business, de Groot started his business by maintaining cars for other racers and collectors, including the late Malcolm S. Forbes, who entrusted de Groot with his collection of exotic cars and motorcycles. For more information about Exoticars please visit www.exoticars-usa.com or call (908) 996-4889.
