Project Superintendent

 

Hance Construction is hiring a Superintendent who is looking to expand their experience in commercial construction.  If you have a thirst for learning, a desire to take your knowledge to the next level, and the drive to ensure that your project runs smoothly from start to finish, we look forward to hearing from you.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Has a minimum of 3-5 years in the commercial construction industry as a Project Superintendent. 
  • Must be well versed in all facets of commercial construction from site preparation and utility work to completion of punch list.  
  • Comfortable reviewing drawings and noting discrepancies and conflicts between the drawings and/or existing conditions. 
  • You promote a collaborative environment where subcontractors and suppliers work together efficiently to achieve success for all involved.
  • You put safety first daily and have an OSHA 30 certification.
  • You are proactive and seek to attack project roadblocks before they become bigger issues. 
  • You are well organized and always looking ahead.  
  • You are a clear and concise communicator who is comfortable communicating through email as well as making phone calls.
  • Can perform project specific documentation, whether it’s completing daily logs, writing RFI’s, or helping the office staff review payment applications. 
  • You are well versed in project management & scheduling software. Programs such as Procore, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project for scheduling is a plus.   
  • Have the ability to complete projects on time and under budget. 
  • Experience overseeing structural steel projects or experience working with metal buildings is a plus.  

Safety

  • Responsible for safety on the site.
  • Ensures all on-site project staff are committed to the safety program. 
  • Ensures all safety paperwork is completed and filed.
  • Work closely with safety department to identify potential safety concerns and correct them in a timely fashion.

Additional Tasks:

  • Assist the Estimating Team with reviewing bids and leveling scopes.
  • Assist the Preconstruction Team with reviewing design development drawings and documents.
  • Project start-up as required to assist the Operations and Project Management Team. 
  • Perform takeoffs for ordering of self-perform materials. 
  • Assist the Project Management Team with reviewing scope documents and monthly payment applications.
  • Perform job walks and assisting the team in defining project scopes for projects being bid. 
  • Develop schedules for bidding and preconstruction efforts.

Pre-Construction and Project Start-up

  • Works closely with Project Manager to review scope of work and detailed drawings for each successful trade/supplier to avoid misunderstandings and conflicts.
  • Coordinates with Project Manager to provide a well thought through construction schedule that is a balance between Client needs and construction reality.
  • Complete project start-up checklist and complete associated responsibilities.
  • Project planning and mobilization.

 Site Supervision  and Coordination

  • Drive compliance with owner and HCI safety policies.
  • Establish and review construction procedure and monitor to assure conformance.
  • Provide consistent and timely on-site inspection and supervision of all project trades/suppliers to ensure schedule is met.
  • Develop client relationship.
  • Coordinate suppliers and trades on-site.
  • Notify Project Manager of schedule updates as needed by changing job conditions.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 (commensurate with experience)
